Yes. The cans are aluminum and the trays are cardboard—both of which are readily accepted recyclable materials. 

Are Royal Canin wet feline formulas complete pet food?
Yes. All wet feline formulas are complete and balanced cat food.

Is the gravy in Royal Canin wet feline formulas only water and aroma?
No. The gravy is part of the recipe. The formulation of the gravy is as important as the formulation of the chunks or the loaf.

The richer a product is in protein, the less the gravy is absorbed, which is considered to be a sign of quality. Economy products often use starch to absorb the liquid to reduce their recipe costs. Remember that when the product is warm, the gravy will be more fluid than when the product is cold.

Does Royal Canin use any artificial preservatives or colors in the wet feline formulas?
No. Wet feline formulas are naturally preserved by the sterilization process. Royal Canin never uses artificial colors since cats don’t care about colors!

Although you claim “Instinctively preferred”, my cat did not like the product. Why?
All Royal Canin wet feline formulas are based on Macro Nutrient Profile science, a new dimension of long term palatability. But, there are a couple of reasons why a cat might not enjoy Royal Canin wet canned formulas:

• - A cat that was always fed dry food only might not recognize wet food.
• - Some cats prefer other formats of food (such as chunks in jelly or chunks in loaf) over chunks in gravy.

Does Royal Canin recommend mixing dry and wet formulas?
The recommendation depends on the cat’s nutritional needs. If all nutritional needs are covered by the Royal Canin dry formulas, there is no nutritional need to add a wet formula.

But, in some situations, a cat may prefer a wet food—such as weaning or an older cat with sensitive teeth and gums.

We know that sometimes cat owners mix dry and wet formulas. Royal Canin wet feline formulas replace anthropomorphic flavor varieties and provide specific special need or life stage nutritional solutions for cats.

For specific breeds (Persian, Siamese and Maine Coon), Royal Canin’s recommendation is to give dry only. This is because each of our 3 Feline Breed Nutrition formulas is targeted to the needs of that specific breed.
